Sunshawl Services Inc has served the greater Lane County area since 2006, serving sell-employed and small businesses alike, many of them family run businesses. People trust me to be honest with them. I'm loyal to my clients and continually look for new ways to better serve their needs.
I'm trained in tax accounting and licensed with Oregon as a Licensed Tax Consulant (LTC #31542-C) and with the IRS as an Enrolled Agent (EA). I have a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and have been studying accounting and economic issues since 2000. In 2015 I started investing in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I now teach other accountants on the subject of virtual currencies and blockchain.
Tax Accounting refers to accounting for tax purposes in the United States. Unlike most countries, the U.S. has a comprehensive set of accounting principles for tax purposes, prescribed by tax law, which are separate and distinct from Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
The difference between the LTC license and the EA license is that EA is a national license whereas LTC is a state designation.
- LTC: Licensed Tax Consultant. An LTC can only represent tax returns they prepared and originally signed.
- EA: Enrolled Agent with IRS. An EA can represent a taxpayer in any interaction with the IRS, without the taxpayer being present, regardless of whether or not the EA prepared the original tax return.
